: Does anyone know a good source for 26-12x12 wheels? I would like a second set for my JD 455 so I don't need to keep swapping my turf and bar tires on the rims.
: Thanks
Neale - Of course, you can always look to your local Deere Dealer. However, I would expect the price to be fairly steep. I picked up two wheels for my 23-12x10.5 bar tires, so I too would not need to have them remounted. I paid $65 a wheel from my friends in green.
You could check out the yahoo groups section for John Deere Classifieds. You'll have to join to post. Also, www.cedarrapidstire.com has some wheels, and you might want to give them a call. Their 800 number is listed on their sight, but I don't think you can find wheels on their sight.
Also, check www.carlisletire.com. If you can find something there, cedar rapids tire can get it for you. The thing to be aware of is the hole pattern AND the pilot hole diameter, along with the offset. Some third party wheels have the right hole pattern, and the offset is close enough to not matter, but the pilot hole (the big hole in the middle) is too small.
I've also heard that some people claim they have used Cub Cadet wheels on a Deere. So perhaps you can check with a Cub dealer. Roeder Outdoor Power in Dubuque, Iowa, sells both Cub Cadets and Deeres. Their web site is www.lawnpower.com. You can get their 800 number from their web site and maybe give them a call to see if they know if they will cross over. They are pretty decent people to deal with, and I'm sure they would be happy to give you some assistance.
Good Luck -- Dave
