I agree with rcbe,goto briggs website & see if you can download a service/repair manual for your mod/type eng,if you can't download,either buy manual at briggs site,local dealer or ebay,also if you pulled head & head gasket was composition/metal filled rather than the older aluminum style,these are a 1 time use gasket & can't be reused,you may have had/have a leaking head gasket,valves should be checked for clearance,also check for carbon buildup on stems causeing them to stick in guides.
