if you put the ignition key in and turn it to the run position only, (do not start engine) pull up the pto switch. you should hear a pronounced "click" come from the mower clutch. if not, i usually leave the keyswitch in run or,on position then start wiggling wires or connections on mower clutch and back of switch. when i wiggle the trouble spot, i will hear the clutch click in and out as i make/break connection on trouble spot. works for me.
