Gilson ignition switch connection

I disconnected the wires from a Gilson riding
mower ignition switch and didn't pay attention to
which wires went where (stupid move). When I
tried to reconnect the switch, I melted the coil.
Can someone please tell me how to figure out which
wires go to which terminals on the switch. There
are about 8 terminals on the back of the switch,
but only 3 of them are used. If you can recommend
a book, website, or whatever, I would greatly
appreciate it. Thanks.
