I have a 24hp. MTD Yard Machine. The power belt broke. I replaced it. Now the variable speed lever on the left side of the mower does not work at all. It will start but the blades are engaged. When I put it in gear it starts to move weather the brake/clutch pedal is depressed or not. I didn't do anything with the transmission or the transmission belt. Why the change? How do I correct it.
