I replaced the dead battery on my CC1642 with a 12 volt battery from Sears. The cranking power on the original battery was not specified in the specs nor on the battery and there was no cross reference available at Sears. I presume the cranking power is higher because the new battery was fit for only size measurements and came from the auto battery line NOT the tractor line. It has a mid 500A of cranking power.
My problem is that now, with the new battery, the main 20A fuse blows when I try to start it up. Can this be from the possibly larger cranking power of the new battery?? Any ideas or do I just have an unnoticed short somewhere?
Thanks in advance.
