Depending on what make carb on eng,walbro,nikki,teikei,tillotson,zama they all suffer several common problem's,the main one being the internal mesh filter screen plugs up & must be carefully removed/soaked & blown out or replaced,these carbs are also very sensitive to dirt in pump needle/seat & internal passages,especially if a fixed hi-speed jet(no hi-speed needle)also the pump diaphram tends to strech/age harden,goto your local stihl dealer with mod# of saw & possibly any numbers off carb and get a rebuild kit for same
