widow gave me model #917-270921 (under seat info) with B/S engine. said trans did not work and her husband told her that sears wanted an arm&leg to repair it. bought a new one which she still has, kept this one for spare parts. pulled the tires and then gave it to me. 47 hrs on meter.got the engine running except it won't pull fuel from tank, will run all day with dribbles into throat of carb. blew out lines and can get fuel to carb when i blow into the tank. new filter and hose line from filter to carb. checked membranes on unit on carb that appears to be fuel pump and all are good. jets clear. any ideas and am i correct that this is the fuel pump? if auto trans is bad, where can i find a replacement axle. i checked with surplus center out of nebraska but they do not have a cross reference between the axles they have and manufactured lawn mowers. good prices on their products if you know the item you need. googled managemyhome.com and immediately got reply and download for owner's manual for free. any help appreciated, weeds growing daily. tony
