Well I'm really out of my league now.
Now electrical seems dead....won't crank....fuel pump not kicking in.
I've checked all safety switches (park brake, neutral, seat, PTO) for continuity. Traced wire from each switch thru harness..have continuity.
Buzzer for park brake is buzzing faintly, yet the switch has continuity when brake on....and continuity on other wire when off. Bypassing switch make no difference. Yet the park brake light in dash is not on. Even took silicone rectifier out of old motorcycle (same) and tried it.
I do have power on a cdi terminal, all fuses, some contacts on harness for igintion assembly relay. Ignition switch has continuity in run and start (and voltage).
I'm guessing now that I need the ignition assembly relay which is over $200, and that was my original problem (not cdi I just bought).
Any one have any tips? I'm pretty sure all wires are good, so it would have to be either Engine control module, rectifier/reg or ignition combination relay assembly.
All these parts are very expensive, takes almost two weeks to get, I'm in Nfld. As I said, Im guessing.
Any tips on how to pin point the problem closer or more accurately.
It seems like it's in safety mode....like turning key to start when PTo is on....but it's not.
I'm suspecting ignition assy. because many of the switches go to it.
Has anyone taken one of these apart? I have friends that could probably fix it if I cut it open. We cut top off cdi to check all solder connections (before I ordered new one). All connections seemed good, couldn't get at components on other side due to it all being solidly immersed in rubber. I'm wondering if I can cut the epoxy on this relay (not rubber like cdi)and slide board out of plastic housing case.
Any suggestions?
