In Reply to: hydraulic pump for 1855 MF posted by Rod Paplow on Wednesday, November 21, 2001:
: I have a 1855 Massey Garden tractor with a loader on front. I have a hydraulic pump mounted to the front PTO for hydraulic power. The pump has way more capacity than I need for the application. It cycles the loader way too fast, so I added a bypass valve back to the reservoir. This works, but the bypassing gets the oil very hot in a short time and draws a lot of power. I need to find a lower flow pump that bypasses back to the sump when I'm not using hydraulics. I found one new on the intranet that is a load sensing pump made by Barnes, but it is $800. I'm looking for a lower cost solution.
