you dont have to be on seat or anything to crank engine by jumping the terminals but, you do have to be on seat in order for engine to fire up and stay running but dont worry about clutch being pushed in and stuff like that since, by jumping terminals your bypassing that crap. if you need to start engine too, you must be on seat and keyswitch turned to the on (not start) position.
