Probably got crap in the carburetor. But while you're there, when you take off the carb, check something. Check to see if the choke is closing all the way. Where the linkage hooks to the choke on top of the carb, there's a pin sticking up from the carb into a slot in that plastic piece. A common problem with those is dirt getting in the slot and holding the choke so it doesn't shut all the way.
