Take a test light and hook the end to a ground. Then, while pressing the clutch/brake and turning the key, see if there is any power at the bolt on the bottom of the starter. If there is, you need a starter. If there's no power to the starter, there is a problem with either you ignition switch of solenoid. It could also be a low battery. I would try replacing the solenoid, those go quite often. If you're not sure, replace the solenoid and switch.
