Hello-
I have inherited a John Deere LT160 Automatic riding mower, and have a problem with the mowing deck. The lifting mechanism doesn't work well, so the deck sortof drags on the ground. A quick look showed that a large spring, on the left side, was dangling. It hangs from a rod and it seems it should connect to a small hole in the top of the deck cover. Its impossible to get the loop on the end of the spring into the hole, however. I am assuming a cotter pin or eyebolt of some sort is missing. Does anyone have a similar tractor who could take a look for me? The online manual has no mention of this kind of maintenence.
Thanks for any help,
rob (yachats, oregon)
