Does the battery light only come on when running pto? or, is it constantly on. take voltmeter and test battery voltage without engine running. voltage should be 12 to 12.5 volts. then check again with engine running. voltage should be around 13 to 14.5 volts. indicating that charging systems working. if battery light only comes on with pto turned on then, the pto clutch is either out of alignment or, windings in clutch magnet have shorts and is drawing heavy current off system. good luck.
