Stan,
Could be a coupleof things.
Your needle and seat may not be operating. The float may be stuck, stopping you getting fuel through.
You could have a blocked fuel filer (but ill assume you have checked this)
The main jet in the cary could have a blockage, stoppint the fuel getting through.
My best guess however is that the shut off solenoid on the carby is faulty. This stops all fuel from passing through the carby. You can take it off, and find a standard bolt to put the bowl back on. This will take the shut off solenoid out of play and show you if this is the problem. You will still be able to turn the engine off so don't worry. The engine is stopped electrically by shutting down the coil. The shut off solenoid is meant to stop engine run-on.
If you don't have a bolt suitable, you can put your finger over the hole to stop fuel from leaking out and get someone to give it a quich try. If it runs, you can shut it straight down, and you will know the solenoid is faulty.
