I have a John Deere LX 136 Riding Mower that when I engage the blades it sqeals really bad and then the blades will stop. Sometimes it will cut for a while and then stop, other times it will only cut for a little while and then the blades will stop. I think it is the belts slipping. Is there an adjustment down there to tighten the belts or do I just need to get a new belt? Also if there is an adjustment do I have to remove the deck to tighten the drive belt. It looks like it is not the belt on the deck slipping but the belt above it that drives the deck. (hope that makes sense) Sorry I just inherited the tractor from my father who passed away last year and I do not have a manual or know a lot about it. I know we bought it about 12 years ago and it has been through a lot but still runs like a top!
