You probably have 2 seperate problems 1-if eng has an oil pressure sw located behind or next to filter, disconnect & run as you you usually would ,if eng dies after 1/2hr,ign coil breaking down & going bad,or possibly cooling fins plugged with grass & leaves causing eng to overheat, and coil breaking down from heat,or a mech problem in trans or deck causing excessive load on eng causing overheating,if eng doesen't quit after 1/2hr with pressure sw disconnected, then either sw going bad or oil too light a weight. As for smokeing check for an overfull oil level or a leaking valve cover gasket, leaking head gasket blowing oil on muffler.
