Deere's new CEO is a former banker. His stated mission is to close around 3,000 Deere dealers (all the small business guys that sell less than $10,000,000 a year) and concentrate on Lowes and Home Depot. Probably why your local dealer is switching brands. At your budget, I think the Husqvarna is a good choice. Sears Craftsman tractors are the same as Husqvarnas, with a few less features and different engines in some models (if I remember correctly). So Sears can be an alternate source of parts and attachments if needed, but it sounds like your dealer is gonna be good to work with.
