Hi:

I have an 1993 JD LX178. I believe it used to be a good machine, but unfortunately was neglected for several years while my stepfather was battling cancer. The latest problem - the rear wheels have rusted to the axles and will not come off. (Kind of makes it hard to fix a flat!) Given the age of the machine, and the amount of repairs I believe it will need if taken to a JD repair shop, I have decided that it may be best to cut my losses and get a newer mower.

I am deciding between a 2005 JD LT160 with 180 hours and a new Craftsman, with comparable specs and a similar pricetag. The JD has a few scratches but appears to be in good condition. Does anyone have any thoughts one the LT160?

Thanks in advance for any advice!
