WOW! A Deere 116 in my neck of the woods would sell for around $500 +/-. I don't think that they sold for much over $1200 when new. I agree with Dave in that if you want an old Deere to tinker with, look for an old 200 series or the 200's predecesor, the 110 and 112. All have lots of parts available, many more attachments available and can be bought for around $500 to $800 in very good condition.
