I will be cutting aprx. 4.5 to 5.5 acres and I have narrowed my choices to the JD X340 tractor, the JD z445 zero turn, and possibly the toro zero turn of that same price range($4200-$4700). I will be mowing about a 120 yard by 10 yard, slight slope(12-15 degrees or so)as well, on the side of the property. The X340 has a 4 year warranty and the 445 zero turn only a two year(toro, a three). Some at JD as well as others have told me that the tractor will far outlast the JD zero turn but that they havent been out long enough to really know. JD did say they do not get any back to trade in. The JD tractor and zero turn are the same price and I am not considering going any higher than that $4700.Comfort is a small issue here being that my 64 year old mother will also be using this machine. How long the mower will last is the big issue and deciding factor though and I was hoping someone may could help me out....any help would be greatly appreciated,Thanks.
