My mowers parking brake will not set even though the handle moves freely up and down as does the rod but I am not sure if a piece is missing from the end of the rod under the spring or if part of the inner brake pedal is missing something that would connect with the parking brake rod so that it will not let the pedal return thereby setting the brake. I would like to be able to get off the mower without killing the engine.
