I can't imagine an instant failure like that unless a drive shaft in the trans broke or more likely something got caught in the release valve holding it open or if there is a pressure relief valve that has stuck open. If you're sure everything is alright on the outside the only thing left is to look inside the trans. Being cheap, that would be my next step. What is there to lose? Good luck, Marshall
