I have a John Deere 345 with a 20 HP Kawasaki twin engine. When I finish using it I always let it idle for a few minutes to cool it down before I shut it off. When I go to start it several days or a week later it starts terribly hard and acts like there is no fuel in the carburetor. I have heard these runn so hot that when you shut the off they boil the fuel out of the carburetor bowl. I do give it a cooling off period before shut off so it almost seems like the fuel drains back to the tank after several days ? If I shut it off and restart after a few minutes or even an hour it fires right up, so this only bothers if left dormant for several days or weeks ? I have looked for a check valve or a fuel filter with a check in it to fit a 1/4" fuel line but have not been able to locate one to see if this may cure the problem. Has anyone else had this problem ? Does anyone have any ideas ?? Please advise, thank you. E-mail william.carter@dot.state.mn.us
