If you can keep more heat in by the engine it will help. Cover the areas of the hood that you can to minimize cold air flowing over the engine. On a Wisconsin Robin engine I had to run a small 1/2" tube from one of the exhausts back into the air cleaner for cold weather. Most cars pull warm air off the exhaust manifold until the engine warms up.
