Have the father in laws Deere c116l lawn tractor in the barn now because the clutch jerks real bad. By that I mean it will motor along for a few feet and loose all power connect from engine to trans, then take off again. Haven't dug into it yet but figured I'd throw this out here to see if it's a linkage issue or something more.
Also noticed while cranking the engine, the ground cable on the starter was loose and sparking. When I tightened it up it quit sparking but also won't crank- until the ground is loosened again. Relay says "clunk" but the engine doesn't even twitch.
I'd tell him someone stole it but it won't drive far enough for that ploy to work, any advice would be helpful.
