Steve, have you checked the wires from the switch to the pto? Not too clear on your model but mine had mouse chew marks on the wires from the switch to the pto unit that would cause the same thing until the little vermin chewed all the way through them. Was a real pain to repair when there was 10" of snow on the ground and cold. Is everything clear of obstructions in the auger and belt area?
