everytime i rebuild a tecumseh engine that had broken or damaged connecting rod, i say a prayer before i fire it up and keep a hand on the killswitch till i am sure everything is not going to grenade out the front of the block. so far,..i only had one do it and that was years ago. the important thing on doing one of those is, like joe said you must make sure that the crankpin is round and smooth and the connecting rod is installed the right way. (btw..briggs or any other engine dosent make me nervouis during 1st fire up lol)
