I bought a Husqvarna YTH2242 (Kohler) riding mower four years ago, which has been very hard-used during those years of very large lawn mowings and near daily mowing of bumpy (moles and ground hogs) pasture rotation sections, including occasional very tall grass, and pulling rather overloaded yard trailers on my 10-acre farm.
Considering its hard use (abuse? lol), it has held up very well, with minimal maintenance of a couple of lubes and oil/air filter changes.
However, it really is too small as it takes four hours to mow just the front & back yards with its 42" cut. I also would like to buy a small manure spreader and snow plow, and am pretty sure it can't handle those.
Last week I saw the new larger Husqvarna garden tractors ($2000-$2600) and wonder if the new machines would hold up as well as my small one has. The hard work and maintenance ease inclines me to buy another Husqvarna.
Will the new Husq, garden tractor handle a small spreader easily? Do any come with 4WD for better snow plowing?
thanks!
