11 horse Murray lawn tractor tranny problems

I was left a tractor at the house I just bought and it has tranny problems. It is a 3 speed forward and one back, but only third gear works. The others don't do a thing. But if the you put the shifter into gear the tractor will not move like it is engaged.as in it won't roll. Is there any shear pin or anything easy like that I can do to fix it?
