buy a JD GT262 or not?

see some of you have strong opinions on this particular model. still gotta wonder if it is not worth it if you can get it under $800?

here is the post for one we are looking into purchasing," I still have it and it is a GT-262, however it is an older model not sure of the exact age since it came with a house I bought in up state NY where I mainly used it as a snow blower. It is at least 6 years old. No major problems ever other than changing spark plugs, oil and filter, and the fuel filter."

any advice/opinions GREATLY appreciated.
