I was mowing my yard tonight and about half way through I noticed my right front tire was wet. It turns out that the loader return port blew the rubber dust cap off and was pumping my hydraulic fluid all over the place. Looks like I lost between two and three quarts before I noticed it.
I drained the transmission and checked the hydro suction screen, and it was perfectly clean. Tractor only has 202 hours on it and has had all scheduled maintenance performed at the required intervals.
Since I had the suction screen out and have to change the trans fluid anyway, I decided to change the trans filter. It had a huge amount of suction on it when I spun it loose. Is it possible for a plugged up or faulty trans filter to cause this type of leak?? I don't have enough fluid to finish filling it up and test it yet.
Thanks,
Brian
