I've owned a 42" for about 4 years now. I've never had one problem with my machine. The only problem I have with uneven cutting is due to the fact that my acre is not real even. Also, the reason that Les's mower had to be taken out of gear to put into reverse is just one of many safety features. All I did was take a couple of seconds and unhooked the wire clip for that particular feature. I also disconnected the wire so it will allow me to get up off of the seat without it automatically killing the motor.
