The injectors could also be bad, you would have to remove them and have them checked. When they are out you could check compression which should be above 300lbs or up to 400lbs. You need a screw in gauge to do this, hard to hold this kind of pressure by hand. Of course a new fuel filter, air filter won't hurt. Good battery etc.
