Most of the time the fitting will work unless
it's damaged in some way. The usual cause of
your problem is the area getting the grease
is dirty, from dirt, rust, or other. You could
remove the fitting, take it to a auto parts
store and match it up, most are common, unless
it's special made which is rare. I have had
on a rare occasion the fitting would be the
culprit.
