Thanks Butch. Found that the filter housing is part of that casing under there and cannot be removed as a separate piece. I called the dealer/repair shop which told me that they would try and do exactly what you are suggesting. Drill and tap the hole and reinstall a new threaded pipe. I hope that works cause I'm guessing that removing that casing and having it replaced will cost me. I'll update when they hit me with the bill. Thanks again.
