Welcome to the tractor world. I wouldn't tie
into any of the tractor wiring at all for a
back up alarm. Go to a truck shop and you will
find back up alarms, and different switch types
you can use. One switch I know of will mount on
the floor and has a spring dongle sticking out
that actually contacts the reverse gear shift
linkage on a truck, you could mount it so the
dongle will make contact with the reverse position of your HST reverse pedal, and would
work great. All you would have to do is tie into
the on side of the ignition switch.
