there are a couple of snap rings one on the bottom of the shaft and one in the gearbox. the gearbox needs rmoved and dissassembled to get the shaft out.
take the deck off and take it to your dealer . a mistale here can be a $1000.00 bill down the road.(sooner most likely) make sure to relace the $7.oo seal in the bottom of the gearbox at the same time. cheap insurance
