i am having starting problems with my l5450. it has about 600 hours. replaced dead battery. replaced starter relay. cranked weakly 4or5 times, then nothing exept warning lights when turn key. pulled starter..lots of black dust at front of starter motor armature...brushes look ok (how do you spread brushes again to seat armature into back cover?) Guess i have to check all pertinent grounding and safety switches, and also clean up starter solenoid contacts. maybe run substantial ground wire from battery negative to starter body? did i miss anything? thanks guys!
