1) Through the rear crankshaft seal into the transmission, or
2) Into the water jacket through a crack in the engine block, or
3) Into a cylinder past a bad oil ring.
Check for oil in the clutch housing (there should be a drain plug), and checking for oil in the coolant is as easy as pulling the radiator cap. You can drain the oil and drop the pan to check the condition of the lower cylinders. A broken oil ring will leave scoring on the cylinder.
