The tach/hour meter, cable driven, works just
like a cable driven speedometer in a car.
when the rpm needle goes bonkers, the magnet
that the cable spins has got into and touching
the cup that is spring loaded and the needle
is attached to. With the spinning magnet touching the rotating cup, this becomes a fixed
object thus causing the needle to give you the
side show. Problem...the tach/hour meter is
worn out.
