Your correct about the bearing being worn out.
some times they will stick into position. You
just have to look at it and figure out how it
comes off. You may have to use a puller.
As for the oil leak, it shouldn't leak. I would
clean off the area(wash the tractor) and watch
the leak area to see if I could locate the one
spot where it's leaking. Could be just something
needs a wrench on it. Keep you tranny topped off
to prevent damage.
