Thanks gents. I've never had a hole appear in the side of my engine before, any engine. I literally had no clue. The cause was probably my radiator going bad because as soon ans it was re-cored was when this problem cropped up. I imagine the plug was popped by the pressure build up from the bad radiator, and then later rattled all the way out through usage, I didn't at first know what was even going on because the hole was covered by the starter assembly and it wasn't until the starter went out, (from getting hit in the backside by leaking coolant) that I removed it and found the problem. Not I know what it is and how to fix it, thanks.
