Andrew, They are great little tractors; I have had one for several years, I use it almost every weekend for hauling stuff around, bush hogging and a little blade work on my driveway. I have found that anyone who knows Kubotas knows about the pTO - I'm not technical and don't know the differences. I've had not trouble with mine - oh and I frequently run a Woods chipper off my pto and it performs like a champ. Be more than cautious on hills - it has a high center of gravity and it is narrow. Get a maintenance book and service it like the book and this forum says - it should treat you well.
