I paid around a grand if I remember correctly, extra auger about 200. If you use it a lot it's worth it, if not perhaps renting would be an option. I'm constanly being asked by the wife to build more fence so I use mine quit a bit. Like anything else you get what you pay for. The stuff you see in Northern is junk, made in China. I have found that Bush Hog makes very tough equipment. JMHO
