To my knowledge these alternators do not have any diodes. They are simply permanent magnets rotating around a fixed armature. The altenator produces AC current which is rectified in the regulator. The regulator is new and connected correctly as far as I can tell. I do not know if it is possible to check the diodes in the regulator as the unit is totally encapsulated.
