I recently had a problem that got quite severe with my B7800(2003, 250 hrs): stalling when trying to go forward/reverse. The engine would recover if you let off the pedal, especially if you pushed in the clutch. Looking on this site I found a note from Farmer Frank about the safety switch under the seat and that if you are not in the seat it will allow the tractor to run as long as the tractor is not moved or it will shut off.
The Fix: Thanks to Farmer Frank, all you need to do is check the connectors on the seat safety switch. In my case, I used some emery paper to clean the contacts. The problem is now 100% fixed!
Whenever you have a problem with cutting-out that can be "saved" by pushing in on the clutch, CHECK THAT SWITCH.
