TW, before you add anything to the transmossion oil, if you don't know what type of oil it is, I would suggest changing the oil before you refill with UDT. I believe these transmissions may have been filled with 80-90 weight gear oil when they were built. I have a 245DT which may be similar to yours. Instead of a site glass you may have just a plug which you remove when filling the transmission. When oil starts coming out of the plug hole you've added enough.
