When mowing in dry tall grass, clean the radiator screen frequently. It is easy to overheat the engine with a plugged radiator screen, which will ruin it.
Do not lug the engine.
Throttle way down before engaging the PTO.
Forget the STP. Kubota got it right with the HST transmission. Nothing goes wrong with them.
Store the tractor under cover if possible. If not, drain the water out of the clutch housing often.
Do not park the tractor with the clutch engaged. Kubota clutch plates will rust together. That little hook by the clutch is there for a reason.
Stay out of 4WD on pavement. In fact, if you only engage 4WD when you need it, the front differential will last longer.
There is a transmission filter, a hydraulic filter, an air filter, two fuel filters and an engine oil filter. Don't miss any when you service the tractor.
Follow the recommended service intervals. If in doubt, shorten the intervals.
Store it with the fuel tank full to prevent condensation.
Keep it clean. If possible, use air to blow dust away from the fuel filler cap before you open it. Pressure washing once in a while will keep the tractor clean. A clean engine runs cooler and better.
A protectant like Nu Finish will keep the pretty orange paint from fading out, and help preserve resale value. Use a UV protectant like Son of a Gun on rubber tires if they sit in the sun, and on plastic parts.
Wear your seat belt. That ROPS won't do you any good if you fall out of your seat.
